The Treasure of People

Sorry we missed you! Guess you may have wondered, where did we go? Well, five days ago we had some chosen relatives come all the way from Milwaukee. Ron and his wife, Bobbi usually stop a few places on their way and support not only their own spiritual awakening, but many times they stop to nurture and encourage others. Ron and Bobbi are two dynamic educators, and we believe they have not only changed people’s lives, but saved many…with their wisdom and philosophies. And having them here in Colorado was a breath of fresh air. If you’d like to see more about the great work Ron’s doing with kids, check out his website at www.ronglodoski.com

Sometimes we’re media dropouts, but when it comes to family – we drop everything. Many people seek silver or gold, but the true treasure is people. Have you ever said, at one time or another, “I wish I’d taken the time to see my Mom (Dad, Uncle, brother or friend).” I bet you’ve wished you’d taken the time to stop and “smell the roses”…you know, call that special person and renew that bond.

A wise Native elder once said that “the only thing that you can take with you is your memories.” When we stand before our Maker, our wish is to review our memories of the heart. We’re making it a point to gather those memories, like flowers from our garden, each and every day. And we hope you’re doing the same.

And sometimes the “people” should be yourself. That people. Have you ever gotten so caught up in the things you feel you “have to do” that you lose sight of the things that you should do? Some people call it stopping to smell the roses…you know, just taking some time for life. B R E A T H E

It’s easy to stay so busy that days, even weeks or months go by without nurturing your soul. What is it that feeds you? Many of us were taught to sacrifice our time and money for our children. But what does that teach them? How will they know it’s OK to take care of themselves unless we model that for them?

Our oldest daughter, Brandi and her husband John have five beautiful children. Some say they weren’t planned; they say they were all blessings. And with the hectic schedule of taking care of soccer, math club, you name it…they still have date nights. Every week! They take time. Usually it’s dinner and a movie. They have a sitter come over to take care of the children so they can take care of themselves, and each other.

Because of this, when their youngest child leaves the nest- they’re gonna be OK.

You can’t go back in time. But today you can make a choice. Those people who mean the most to you…give them a call. Maybe make a date. You’ll be better for it, and so will they.

Don’t give up! Whatever dream you have in your heart, you can make that dream come true. It’s easy to forget that we don’t have to do everything on our own. Today we were reminded that what is important is to focus on the gifts we have, and to support others in expressing and sharing their gifts. A few months ago we made a decision to reach out further than we have in the past. Really reach…

One of the most inspiring things for us came from an email from T. Harv Eker, author of “Secrets of the Millionaire Mind.” He said something to the effect that when you hold yourself back, you’re really being selfish. And that if you’re touching the lives of hundreds, what would it take to touch the lives of thousands…if you’re touching thousands, what would it take to touch the lives of millions. That got us thinking that we have been holding ourselves back…

Well, not anymore. We are committed to inspiring as many people as we can to share their gifts (the gifts they were born with) with the rest of the world. And along those lines, we’ve gotten help from the Nitro Blueprint folks to help us understand how to do that with the help of the internet.

Admittedly, this is not our strongest suit! For years, we have been meeting people smile to smile, heart to heart, and sharing our vision of a peaceful world. Everyone has their gifts, but not everyone is good at everything. We’re not supposed to be! That’s why we need each other. And whatever we need, we can find by asking. The person who can help us is closer than we think. Everyone can be someone’s angel.

Don’t give up! We believe in you.

P.S. Thank you, David Barnes (www.estelphoto.com), for being our angel today!

“Is the world getting worse, what do you think?” That’s what someone asked us last night in the produce department at our local grocery store. We did a quick run to pick up some avocados, and to our delight we ran into Patsy, an old friend we hadn’t seen in a long time. She has two children, and she’s been wondering what condition the world is in. She felt we may have a better perspective, since we travel so much. Our workshops and concerts keep us “out there” over 200 days a year.

Consciousness is changing. People are becoming more tolerant, and interested in others. People, countries, nations…we are all striving to be more of what we are meant to be. We want to fulfill our destiny. We want to contribute to making this world a better place. We see it over and over again. People are people. Everyone is someone’s son or someone’s daughter, and if you hurt them they will feel pain…this is our message to each and every person we encounter on our journey.

So our answer is this: people are becoming more compassionate…which means the world is getting better. We are getting better. The key is to always follow the bent of your nature, and you will find peace…and happiness. This is our prayer for the world.
